September 30, 2014: The DJ Neil Fox is arrested for the first time, at his South London home.
Although this came at the time of the Operation Yewtree witch-hunt, it cannot be said to have been part of it. Fox was accused of all manner of rubbish but not rape. His accusers were pathetic women and underage girls (at the time these offences never happened) who made false allegations for the usual reasons such as attention seeking, malice, and jumping on the bandwagon.
The earliest accusation dates to 1988; the most recent to August 2014. The full details can be found in this 46 page judgment.
Here is the man himself speaking after his acquittal on all counts. As you can see, the poor bloke was nearly in tears.
A few additional words here, after Fox was arrested, I wrote to him. I received in response a phone call from his lawyer, whom I can only describe as an ignorant cunt, an opinion shared in albeit more moderate language by a professional investigator par excellence who shall remain nameless. I wrote to Fox again but never heard back.
I was more than a little surprised he chose to have this case dealt with by a lower court rather than opting for a jury trial, but at least he, or his lawyers, instructed a top flight QC, now a KC of course, since the death of the Queen. Jonathan Caplan was called to the Bar in 1973 and is vastly experienced. He would go on to defend Lady Lavinia Nourse (May 20, 2021 on the Timeline).
