As with the Rolf Harris case, I had not intended to include this, but the 74 year old Clifford collapsed at Littlehey Prison on December 9, 2017 and died the following day. On May 2, 2014, Clifford was given an eight year sentence for historical offences (some of which would have been charged as rape if committed in 2014). He appealed his sentence but not his convictions; he was unsuccessful. However, at the time of his death he was in the process of appealing his convictions on the grounds of fresh evidence. As with Rolf Harris, the imbeciles who control our criminal justice system had clearly intended to keep him behind bars for the rest of his life.
This is the BBC report of his acquittal, apparently they could find only one accuser at this stage who was remotely credible. She claimed to have been seventeen years old when he indecently assaulted her between October 1981 and May 1982. Unreal.
Perhaps the most absurd allegation against Clifford was made by Sarah Symonds – see the Sky News video here. Even if this incident actually happened, it is clear from her own words that it was consensual. Symonds also claims to have had it off with both Gordon Ramsay and Jeffrey Archer, so if she isn’t a liar she is the office bicycle, or at best a celebrity groupie.
Max Clifford died in Hinchingbrooke Hospital on December 10, 2017 three days after suffering a heart attack at Littlehey Prison. His loyal daughter persued an appeal after his death.
Louise Clifford died in May 2023, a month before her fifty-second birthday. She was severely disabled and had suffered a lifetime of pain. Whatever else may be said of Max Clifford, he was an exemplary father.
