FALSE BUT SINCERE ACCUSATIONS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT MADE BY NARCOTIC PATIENTS

1992: The above article by P. Hays is published in the MEDICO-LEGAL JOURNAL, Vol 60 Part 4 1992, pages 265-71.

Although it is undated, it was probably published in the fourth quarter of the year, but I have decided in my infinite wisdom to put it at the beginning.

Yes, I know the word NARCOLEPTIC sounds correct, but the title really does say NARCOTIC. Click here to read it.

The article was added some time after the citation; as usual, my apologies for the poor quality of the scan, which was beyond my control.

At the time it was published, the author was based in Canada, University of Alberta.

He reports four anonymised but interesting cases: two 42 year old women; a 39 year old man; and a 31 year old woman. The second patient – a single mother – described being raped by a police officer and later by her boss. She wondered how they could have done this then carried on their regular (non-intimate) relationships without batting an eyelid. Now you know.
