The above citation - it can hardly be called an article - was extracted from THE AMERICAN JOURNAL OF UROLOGY AND SEXOLOGY, (you can find the full volume for 1919 at the Internet Archive).
The case of especially the pregnant prostitute illustrates the difficulties that can face doctors when they are asked to diagnose sexual abuse or sexual non-abuse. In this connection the reader is referred to the later and quite shocking cases of William Mullins-Johnson and George Gwaze to see how even a pathologist can be misled.
That being said, these are truly exceptional cases; normally when a woman has been sexually violated or a boy has been buggered there will be clear and unambiguous physical evidence, especially if the victim has been subjected to either a prolonged attack or systematic abuse over a period of time.
